The Heartsaver® CPR AED course is intended for all individuals who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements, including: security guards, airline personnel, police, firefighters.
It is also appropriate for lay rescuers who may have a need to respond to an emergency in the workplace, and family members of patients at high risk for sudden cardiac death.
The Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED course is intended for all individuals who have a duty to respond to a first aid or cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements, including: security and airline personnel, camp counselors, police and firefighters, teachers and other individuals who want or need first-aid training. It is also appropriate for lay rescuers who may have a need to respond to an emergency in the workplace.
The Heartsaver® First Aid course provides first responders with training in basic first-aid procedures -- including the first-aid skills recommended by OSHA -- in a format that can be delivered in a single day. The course covers: First Aid Basics, Medical Emergencies, Injury Emergencies, Environmental Emergencies. It is also appropriate for lay rescuers who may have a need to respond to an emergency in the workplace, and family members of patients at high risk for sudden cardiac death.
The course is intended for people who regularly come in contact with infants and children, including: child-care/day-care providers, parents and grandparents, nannies and babysitters, teachers and other educators, anyone else with the responsibility to care for children. The course teaches child-care providers and others to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives.
The Heartsaver® Bloodborne Pathogens course is designed to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for bloodborne pathogens training when paired with site-specific instruction. The course uses the PACT acronym and slogan to help students learn and retain what to do when there is danger of or has been exposure to bloodborne pathogens in the workplace: Protect yourself from exposure, Act when exposed, Clean yourself and the area involved, Tell or report any exposure.
The Family & Friends CPR Course is intended for anyone who wants to learn CPR and prefers to learn in an Instructor-led or facilitated group environment. This course is for people who do not need a course completion card for a job or other requirements. The course is ideal for community groups, parents, grandparents, caregivers, school groups and students, and others interested in learning how to save a life. Skills are taught using American Heart Association's research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which allows participants to practice on a CPR training manikin while skills are demonstrated in the course video.
